Our Story
From a Small Showroom to National Supply
Matrix Fitness South Africa began as a small showroom in Johannesburg in 2010, built on a simple frustration: South African gyms and studios were stuck choosing between overpriced international brands with no local support, or budget equipment that broke down within a year of heavy commercial use. Importing directly meant long lead times, customs headaches, and no one to call when a part failed.
We decided to do it differently. Every treadmill, rower, bike, Smith machine and multi-gym we sell is vetted before it reaches our floor — checked for frame welds, motor specifications, and component quality against commercial-use standards, not just home-gym marketing claims. We deal directly with manufacturers and established distributors rather than grey-market resellers, so warranty claims are honoured and spare parts are actually available months or years later.
Today, Matrix Fitness South Africa has grown from that single Johannesburg showroom into a national supplier, equipping more than 500 gyms, hotels, corporate wellness centres, and home studios across all nine provinces.

We work directly with manufacturers and established distributors, reviewing frame construction, motor and drive specifications, and warranty terms before any product is listed on our site.
Quality Inspection
Every unit is checked on arrival for shipping damage, correct assembly hardware, and functional accuracy before it's marked available for delivery.
Nationwide Delivery
We dispatch from Gauteng to all nine provinces, with delivery timelines and shipping costs calculated by location and equipment size.

Every warranty we offer is a written commitment, not a verbal promise. Commercial-grade machines carry a minimum 2-year parts warranty with a lifetime frame guarantee, while general equipment carries a minimum 2-year manufacturer warranty covering structural defects and faulty components.
Wear-and-tear items — cables, belts, and upholstery — are covered for 12 months under normal commercial use. Warranty claims require proof of purchase and photos of the issue; we handle assessment and, where needed, coordinate replacement parts directly with the manufacturer.

Shipping & Delivery
Orders are confirmed within 1 business day. Most in-stock items are prepared for dispatch within 2-3 business days, with delivery timelines varying by location: Gauteng 2-4 business days, Cape Town 3-5 business days, and outlying areas 5-10 business days.
Orders over R5,000 qualify for free standard delivery to major metropolitan areas. Large commercial equipment is delivered with a liftgate where required, and professional installation is scheduled directly with our team.
